Criteria

  1. Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

  2. The business must focus on a product or service in the sports industry. 

  3. Applicants must be currently enrolled and in good standing at a New Orleans-based HBCU: Dillard University, Xavier University or Southern University.

How it works

  • Step 1

    Students work individually or assemble a team (up to four people) to create an idea for a new business in the sports industry.

  • Step 2

    Each student or team must complete an online application by January 6, 2025.

  • Step 3

    The top six finalists will be notified and announced on the HBCU Sports Business Pitch website on January 13, 2025.

  • Step 4

    Finalists will prepare for an in-person presentation at Dillard University during Super Bowl Week to a panel of judges and key decision-makers within the sports industry.
